Each year, the group holds elections to determine the year’s Board of Directors. The poitions that are open for election are:

  1. President – the President shall be the executive officer, Chairperson of the BOD, responsible for overseeing monthly meetings, and representing the membership as an official spokesperson. The President has the power to appoint members of the Alaskan Apple Users Group to perform special functions, but does not have the authority to appoint new BOD members. At no time shall the office of President be vacant.
  2. Vice President – the Vice President shall be responsible for the agendas of meetings and acting as the President in his/her absence, oversee software evaluation program, SIGS ( special interest groups) promotion, arranging for presenters at meetings, making arrangements for meeting room, and telephone message recording on a monthly basis. The Vice President also acts as the the Public Relations officer, and will contact media about upcoming meetings and events to promote the Katchemacs website. The VP will also take on the Librarian responsibilities for the maintenance, control, and sales of all library materials, this includes collecting fines on overdue materials.
  3. Treasurer – the Treasurer shall be responsible for the administration of the groups accounts and funds, and for filling out all forms and reports to comply with business and government agencies. Financial reports shall be presented at all general meetings and published on the website. For contacting members whose membership has expired and asking if they want to renew.
  4. The Secretary shall be responsible for the taking of minutes at board meetings, typing them and having a copy at the general meeting for the membership. They are responsible for contacting guests that register at meetings. The secretary also acts as Webmaster for the group, and is responsible for updating and maintaining the group website and email accounts. They are also responsible for maintaining the group email lists.

Elections are held in June, and anyone is welcome to run for any position.
